Eye appointment!

I was sitting on this but screw it, I went to an MD eye Dr the other week & did all the tests out there. She said "well, you did extremely well on ur tests,  u have 20/20 vision in ur one eye &  20/30 vision in ur other.  No need for glasses,  What brought u in 2day?" so I said "well, I had 3 strokes & have double vision. My neurologist suggested I see u cuz I may be able 2 wear a patch 2 drive"  she quickly looked over her papers & looked at me & said "Debi, there is nothing here that even suggests u have any problems, u have better vision than most ppl that come in here. U even scored 100% on the 3D test which nobody does, u def shouldn't be able to do that with double vision" lol ah,  being the anomaly is just me I guess.

Funny experience from January

So,  Ray's always going on about how although I imagine everything being rainbows and butterflies there are bad people out there that may prey on my disability and take advantage when they can. As the news shows sometimes there are despicable people who beat up and mug elderly women and men.  So though I'm not 100 % sold on the idea that there's more bad than good im definitely  not oblivious to the fact that people might see me as an easier target.  However,  after this incident I must say,  I am more prepared than someone without any issues at all.  I havemore weapons at mmy disposal now that Iknow hhow towwork without reading (thankfully) and I know how to use... I just might be that chic catching the predators by surprise yelling "I been waiting for you!" lol
So... Here's my entry from Sunday in January of 2014...
Coffee was not needed. this morning I woke up as if it were Monday, texted ray "I guess u made it to work" cuz I didnt hear from him like I normally do. I let snookie out of her cage& heard weird noises that at first I thought were the cats. Then, was a lil louder noises, Snookie & i looked at each other like "Omg, an intruder!" so I grabbed the bear mace, couldn't read the directions w my double vision then I remembered my pepper spray in my vanity... Sprinted quietly to get it out not once thinking "call for help", started to look at the mace can & then saw the door handle slowly turn...it crept open....I Thought "shit, the cats definitely can't open the door" & my first instinct apparently was not to rush the door, not to mace the face I saw or even run. I always pride myself I would have a handle on this type of thing! No! apparently I thought to lift up my cell as if I was gonna throw it w my crazy hand & scream like a little girl! Lol It was ray. It is Sunday. He just got up earlier than me for a change! Wtf!

From the Beginning

Just a little about me and my blog....
I know now how strong I can be yet how weak I am mortally. Back in 2011 I suffered three strokes at the age of 34 - the reason is still "unknown" but the doctors think it was the birth-control pill I was taking that made my blood thick and my arteries brittle. Anyway, this is my blog sharing my struggles, accomplishments, funny day to day things that have happened and still happen and what I continue to learn about overcoming this disability I've been left with.
I have a page of jewelry on Facebook but will share stuff here that I've done and can do. I make and sell jewelry called A Stroke Of Luck Jewelry where 100% of the proceeds are donated to a non-profit organization called The National Stroke Association.
Positiveness is just in my nature (I think it's in everyone's really) and it'll take a lot more than those strokes to hold me down! Fortunately I have Ray (my husband) to go through the journey with me as not only my soul mate & best friend but my cheerleader too.
I have 1 dog (crazy little thing), 2 cats, a small group of quirky awesome weird funny best friends (just like me) and the best family around.
